Technical Analysis, Charts Drawings:
Shapes, Notes, Arrows, Flags and Elliot Wave Tools
Description:
technical analysis, text and notes on
charts, charts drawing and marking Elliot Waves
In the Drawing Toolbar on our charts you may find a row of non analytical tools
that are dedicated to creating notes, highlighting parts of charts, establishing
references, etc. Below you will find a short description of each of these
drawing tools.
Text: The "Text" drawing tools enables one
to place notes directly onto the chart for future reference.
Framed Text: This drawing tool is
similar to the "Text." The only difference is that the text is placed in the
framed box with white background. This allows one to have clearer text (easier
to read), but unlike the simple "Text" tool, the part of the chart behind the
text box will not be visible.
Rectangle: The "Rectangle" drawing tool
draws rectangles and can be used to frame and highlight important parts and
points on the chart.
Filled Rectangle: Like the
"Rectangle" drawing tool, the "Filled Rectangle" draws a rectangle on the chart.
The difference is that, in this case, the rectangle is filled by semitransparent
color. The "Filled Rectangle" is usually used to highlight time periods on the
chart.
Ellipse: This is another shape of drawing
tool that allows one to draw ellipses around important points on the chart.
Filled Ellipse: Like the "Filled
Rectangle," this drawing tool allows one to draw colored, semitransparent
ellipses on the chart. This tool is normally used to highlight important parts
of the chart.
Arrow: The "Arrow" drawing tool draws arrow
on the chart by enabling one to connect references and notes with points and
areas on the chart.
Flag: This is a simple drawing tool that
enables one to place flags on the charts. As a rule, this tool is used to place
red flag on the sell points and green flags on the buy points.
Elliot Wave Tool: This drawing tool
allows one to mark waves in the order of 1 to 5 and from A to C. This marking
tool is normally used in Elliot wave analysis to mark waves during an uptrend,
downtrend, downward correction and upward bounce.
The chart below of the NASDAQ 100 index gives an example using various notation
tools
